Helping people continue living the lives they enjoy, in the homes and communities they love.

Harris James Active

There's still so much I want to do.

Let's keep it that way.

Strength, balance and mobility coaching designed around the life you want to keep living.

Whether you want to stay active and independent, feel more confident in everyday movement or return to something you love, Harris James Active helps you work towards what matters to you.

What Active makes possible

The exercise is the method. The outcome is life.

Active isn't about becoming good at exercises. It's about what greater strength, balance, mobility and confidence could make possible in everyday life.

  • Keep walking the dog.
  • Feel more confident getting up and moving around.
  • Continue enjoying the garden.
  • Keep going out with friends.
  • Return to an activity you've missed.
  • Stay capable for the life you enjoy.

Not exercise for exercise's sake. Movement with somewhere to go.

Why Harris James Active?

Because “keep active” isn't much of a plan.

Harris James ActivePowered by EverFit

Knowing that movement matters is one thing. Knowing where to begin, what's appropriate and how to make progress towards something meaningful is another.

Harris James Active brings together specialist training, individual coaching and a clear focus on everyday independence.

Specialist EverFit coaching

Harris James was the first licensed EverFit provider in the Midlands, bringing specialist later-life strength, balance and mobility coaching into people's homes.

Built around you

One-to-one coaching shaped around your starting point, confidence, capability and personal goals.

Independence is the outcome

We focus on what movement can help you continue doing, maintain or regain. Not simply completing an exercise programme.

Real lives, real outcomes

Sometimes the difference is bigger than you imagined.

Richard, a Harris James Active client

Real Story · Richard

“I never thought I'd play cricket again.”

Richard had reached the point where he relied on a wheelchair when leaving home.

Following four Harris James Active sessions, he walked outside and managed the steps. His wheelchair moved to the garage.

He has continued making progress, getting out for coffee and having his hair cut, and has even started talking about returning to cricket.

Real Story · Brian

Three buses a week. A mile along the towpath. Cornwall back in the diary.

Real Story · Joan

Sometimes success means nothing having to disappear in the first place.

Every person starts somewhere different. Outcomes are individual and cannot be guaranteed.

How Active works

Start where you are.Work towards where you want to be.

01

Let's talk

We start with what you enjoy, what you want to maintain and what you might like to do again.

02

Your starting point

We consider your current capability, confidence and what is appropriate for you before developing an individual approach.

03

Coaching and progression

Your Active Coach works with you through one-to-one sessions, adapting movement and progression around your circumstances and goals.

Sessions are 45 minutes, with progress considered individually rather than rushed.

The people behind Active

Specialist coaching.Human relationships.

Our Active Coaches complete specialist EverFit training and certification, combining knowledge of later-life movement with an understanding of confidence, motivation, communication and safe progression.

But knowing the exercises is only part of it. Understanding the person and what they want movement to make possible matters just as much.

Questions about getting started?

You don't need to know whether Active is right for you before having a conversation. Here are some of the questions people commonly ask.

Active

Perhaps the goal isn't to exercise more.Perhaps it's to live more.

Whether there's something you want to keep doing, something that's become harder or something you'd love to do again, it starts with a conversation.
